Steve Hornyak is a strategic leader who drives hypergrowth and builds successful companies in the technology and software industry. He oversaw a $1B teardown/rebuild of an existing Canadian GM factory, bringing it online swiftly to produce electric walk-in vans. Steve signed 100+ conquest customers and spearheaded the launch of a new distribution and service model, creating a new GM build-to-order B2B business model. Previously, and concurrently with his Acting CEO role, Steve was Chief Commercial Officer & Executive Director for BrightDrop. He was recruited to lead business development, sales, customer success, and professional services, building an 80+ high-performing team in less than 24 months. He grew revenue from $0 in 2021 to $300M+ in 2023, with forecasted 2024 contracted revenue of $1B+, making it one of the fastest-growing startups in US history. Steve provides his expertise in fundraising, M&A, GTM, sales, customer success, and service strategies as an Executive Advisor to multiple AI, robotics, image recognition, fulfillment, and supply chain startups with a combined valuation of $900M+. His valuable insights and counsel have contributed to these disruptive technology ventures' strategic growth and success, including a successful exit. Steve’s role before BrightDrop was as the Chief Commercial Officer for Fabric (f/k/a CommonSense Robotics), where he played a crucial role in achieving $750M in contracts resulting in $50M+ in ARR and raising $200M+ in global VC funding for the leader in using robotic fulfillment and local last-mile operations to improve supply chains. He secured significant contracts with Walmart, Instacart, FreshDirect, and others, contributing to the company's market cap of $1B+. Before that, Steve was CEO of SymphonyAI | Retail CPG, a leading provider of end-to-end, integrated AI- powered solutions for retailers and CPG manufacturers worldwide. He exceeded revenue goals, secured contracts with major clients, and successfully led the company through its sale in 2019. As the CEO of Americas for Trax Retail, Steve expanded this early-stage company into the Americas, achieving an ARR run rate of $40M+ in less than 30 months. Steve closed 12+ $1M+ ARR clients in less than 24 months, driving 60% of the parent company’s total revenue. He led the aqui-hire of Quri and a subsidiary of Experian, further enhancing the company's technology and revenue. Steve served as SVP of Sales & Marketing for FLIR (f/k/a Nomi | Brickstream), leading a global team in direct and channel sales, business development, and marketing. Under his leadership, the company grew from $0 to $50M+ in ARR and established a market-leading global network of AI- and ML-powered people-tracking sensors. In Steve's earlier career, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Clarus (f/k/a SQL Financials) and in sales and consulting roles with Oracle and PwC.
