Profile

Dane Grismer joined KBI Biopharma in 2017. He specializes in the development, characterization, and tech transfer of mammalian cell culture processes. With experience spanning mAb, bispecific, Fc-fusion, and enzyme modalities, he has learned how to anticipate and mitigate bottlenecks in aggressive process development timelines. He focuses on building high-performing teams, equipped to tackle the challenges of scaling across five orders of magnitude from Ambr15 microbioreactors to 2,000-L single-use bioreactors. Dane is at the forefront of KBI’s digitalization efforts, championing implementation of its PROGRAMview client collaboration platform.

Prior to KBI, Dane conducted postdoctoral research at North Carolina State University. There, he focused on mitigating challenges with bioprocess intensification in partnership with Biogen. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to his Ph.D., he received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.S. in Paper Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University.
