Binky Sargent is the VP of Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Engineering for Kennametal where she leads a global team and partners across functional roles. With responsibilities spanning the full technical lifecycle from materials and process development to manufacturing deployment and optimization, Binky understands the critical intersection of innovation and implementation. Through a variety of roles, she has led research projects, provided technical support to global manufacturing sites, developed cost models and risk analyses for new ventures, constructed supply chains, transitioned new products to production and managed organizational transformations to maintain technical alignment with the business landscape. Binky earned a Master of Science degree at the University of Pittsburgh in the field of Materials Science Engineering after undergraduate work in the same discipline at Carnegie Mellon University. She has been honored with the Manufacturing Institute’s STEP Ahead Award and a Carnegie Science Center Award for her work in community STEM programs. Binky serves on the St. Vincent College Boyer School advisory council and as a Board Director for the local Chamber of Commerce and the Refractory Metals Association.
