John Lewis leads the Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) Engineering and Technology
team at Collins Aerospace, connecting the aviation ecosystem sustainably, seamlessly, and
securely. The CAS engineering team utilizes networks, connectivity, and data analytics to
power a more sustainable and enjoyable aviation experience while improving customer
operations. John is passionate about developing talent and partnering with business leaders
to deliver results.

Prior to his current role, he led the Interior Products engineering team within the Interiors
business unit responsible for Galley Inserts, Evacuation Systems and Life Rafts, Ice
Protection Solutions, Lighting Solutions, Oxygen and Passenger Service Unit Systems,
Potable and Waste-Water Systems, Lavatories, and Integration Engineering. John has led
the engineering team responsible for the development and deployment of the Common
Range Integrated Instrumentation System as well as Tactical Combat Training System
Increment II, which is utilized in live pilot training courses including Top Gun. John has
worked on a variety of rotary wing and fixed wing military platforms including leading the
development of the F-35 Helmet Mounted Display System as well as the role of Chief
Engineer for the CH-53K Avionics Management System.

John has been awarded several honors including the Collins Aerospace 2017 Chairman’s
Team Finalist, 2015 Chairman’s Team Award, 2013 Engineer of the Year Finalist, and 2012
Engineer of the Year Semifinalist. John holds a Masters of Systems Engineering from Iowa
State University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University.
Outside of work, John enjoys triathlons and marathons. He also mentors a group of middle
school students. An avid family man, he cherishes adventures with his wife and three
children.
