In the pharmaceutical industry for 30 years, with 20 years Qualified Person experience and working as Head of Quality, Biologics External Supply at Takeda Pharmaceuticals in a role that incorporate QC and micro, Quality Systems and Compliance, Quality Operations, and Disposition, Canice brings a wealth of experience from direct and virtual manufacturing. In his early career he worked with several pharmaceutical companies and gained experience with manufacturing technologies, regulatory compliance, facility and utility qualifications, and quality management systems establishing, and working under, MIA’s, MIA(IMP)’s, and WDA’s. Canice leads an external organisation that operates from regional hubs and oversees manufacturing and QC testing in an external network. The role encompasses the strategic and operational leadership, and he is proud to work with a team of experienced professionals and emerging talent that all contribute to a culture of quality in this world of emerging digital technologies that keeps the patient at the centre. His mission is to ensure that the quality organisation provide the architecture and tools to enable compliance, while maximizing value and staying aligned to the company’s mission and strategy. Canice is a strong advocate of promoting the value of teaching science.
