Dr. Nordwald received his PhD in protein engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After which, he worked for a startup company for about three years developing the full manufacturing process for an enzyme intended to mitigate kidney stone risk. The manufacturing process was scaled to 5m3 fermentation scale and successfully commercially launched before he transitioned to working for KBI Biopharma. He has been with KBI for 6 years as an upstream process development scientist, leading their microbial cell line development group, and now leading their microbial process technology and innovation group. Dr. Nordwald has a passion to realize the dream of fast, cheap drug development.
