Andrew (Andy) Wirths is a senior pharmaceutical operations leader with over 30 years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and strategy, and a proven track record of seamless delivery of safe and effective medicines to patients worldwide. Andy is the Senior Vice President of Americas Supply at AstraZeneca, a global science-led biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines, which operates in over 100 countries with innovative medicines used by millions of patients worldwide. In his role, Andy oversees the manufacturing operations of seven sites in North and South America in AstraZeneca’s global supply network, which has been consistently named in the Gartner Top 25 Supply Chain ranking. Despite an increasingly complex and volatile environment, ranging from weather issues to raw materials shortages, Andy and the Global Operations team expertly navigate hundreds of unplanned events to ensure the uninterrupted supply of life-changing medicines to patients – all while supporting the network’s long-term transformation and support of Ambition Zero Carbon.
